The Story

THIS century, five clubs have won all three of English football’s major honours – the Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup. But only one of that quintet, Leicester City, have also in that time dropped into League One, entered administration and followed a miraculous relegation escape with a 10-point title win the next season.

This Telegraph Custom Gift Book chronicles the club’s history through reproduced reports and images from the paper’s archives, from a report in the 1920s on a 10-0 win to the 2020s, a decade that to date has brought a first FA Cup final triumph, two relegations, one promotion and six different permanent managers.

Some of the club legends here – Gordon Banks, Peter Shilton, Gary Lineker and Jamie Vardy – may be more familiar than others, such as Matt Gillies’ ‘Ice Kings’ of 1962-63, who were still on course for the Double in mid-April of that season. But all play their part in what is at times an extraordinary story.
